Ana Rocío is a professional with over 13 years of experience. She serves as Senior Manager, and her specialty areas are Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law (Industrial Property, Copyright and Related Rights), Data Protection, Information Technology and International Sanitary Regulatory Law in which she has gained experience working with clients in the consumer products, food and beverages, restoration, textile, technology and growth markets.
She has held the position of President and Vice President of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Guatemalan American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM). She has represented the Chamber at inter-institutional bureaus. She has been also Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Commission of Integrated Export Services of the Exporters Association (AGEXPORT).
Ana Rocío has a degree in Legal and Social Sciences and is an Attorney and Notary Public from Rafael Landívar University in Guatemala. She has also a master’s degree studies in Intellectual Property from the Headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland. When she studied at WIPO, she had the opportunity to practice in the Division of the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks and in the Division of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). In addition, she has Intellectual Property Studies in Montevideo Uruguay and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also has studies in Constitutional Law of the Constitutional Court, Finance for lawyers from the Francisco Marroquín University, and a master's degree in Corporate Law from the Rafael Landívar University, all in Guatemala.
She also has a Certification & training of European Data Protection from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in Austin, United States of America.
Ana Rocío is a member of the Bar Association, Guatemalan American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), International Trademark Association (INTA), Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI in Spanish), Association of Women Entrepreneurs in the Chamber of Commerce, Association of Exporters of Guatemala (AGEXPORT). International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
