Aníbal José Olivas is a professional in the legal department with over 15 years of experience. He works as a Manager in the Tax practice and its areas of expertise include Investment, Agribusiness, Project Finance, Banking, Business, Stock Market, Capital Market, tax structures and corporate advisory in sectors regulated by the Government in which he has gained experience working with clients from the telecommunications, energy and mining industries. He has participated in various Due Diligence – Corporate and Tax processes. 

He joined EY in 2013, before joining the firm he worked as Associate Attorney for the firm Alvarado y Asociados, where he was responsible for legal and corporate advisory. Previously he worked as Tax Manager for another Big Four company, gaining wide experience in tax and customs, corporation legal and tax structuring and restructuring processes, as well as their acquisition, merger and transformation; tax assessment and diagnosis of transnational corporations.

He has organized seminars and conferences about Transfer Pricing and Trust, delivered in partnership with international speakers. He was a member of the Global Group of the Tax practice of Lex Mundi, participating in international forums on international tax organization practices.

José holds a Masters in Business Law from the Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) and a Masters in Business Law from the Colegio de Abogados of Madrid in conjunction with the University Francisco de Vittoria. He also has postgraduate studies in Business Law and Banking Law, he has also participated in various courses and tax forums.

Currently, he participates in legal groups and legal commissions of the main commercial chambers and associations preparing comments and recommendations to laws and regulations and in consultations of technical and regulatory standards.
