María del Mar has more than 12 years of experience providing legal advice in the most diverse and complex issues related to Commercial Litigation, Legal Compliance, Risk Assessment, Electronic Commerce, New Technologies, and Consumer Law.
María's experience includes advising leading local and transnational companies in the financial, education, retail, energy, telecommunications, real estate and pharmaceutical sectors in structuring programs of compliance, crisis management and other related issues; claims regarding consumer protection and civil liability, structuring contracts and policies regarding electronic commerce B2B, B2C, C2C and C2B and new technologies; litigation before administrative, arbitral and judicial entities (for amounts of + $ 40MM); structuring contracts and valuation of contingencies in complex transactions, execution of due diligence studies, among others.
She has given several workshops, served as panelist in congresses and has trained personnel of important national and transnational companies, NGOs and associated to the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce. She has published several articles and publications on electronic commerce, consumer law and arbitration. She is a source of consultation for various local media.
Graduated from the University of Costa Rica, licensed in Law (2006).
