Marco is Manager of the EY Environmental Law practice.

He has more than 7 years of experience in the area of Environmental Law; advising local and international companies on aspects such as: environmental legislation and occupational health and safety; litigation in Courts of Justice and the Administrative Environmental Court; auditor of ISO standards for environment, quality, energy, occupational health and safety, food safety as well as Carbon Neutrality verifier, Environmental Due Diligence processes for mergers and acquisitions in areas of real estate, telecommunications, products and services, hotel industry and aeronautical industry.

Marco has extensive knowledge in Greenhouse Gas Management implementation processes; He has led processes to improve these systems for several companies, both in the ISO 14064 standard as well as the GHG Protocol.

In addition, he has various certifications such as: Internal auditor of standards: FSSC 22000, food safety systems; INTE/ISO 50001:2018, energy management systems. Also, he has the C-Integrated Neutrality and Greenhouse Gas Verifiers course and the training certificate in the GRI Standards Report guidelines. He is also a lead auditor in the INTE / ISO 9001: 2015 standards. Quality management systems, INTE/ISO 14001:2015. Environmental management systems, INTE/ISO 45001:2018. Occupational health management systems.

Marco has experience in providing training, in environmental management, management of ordinary and hazardous waste and Carbon Neutrality processes.

Marco has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law from the University of Costa Rica, as well as a Specialty in Notarial and Registry Law and a Law Degree, both from the University of Costa Rica.

He has been a member of the Costa Rican Bar Association since 2011 and has been a Notary Public since September 2016.
