Ruby Asturias is Principal Partner at EY Law. She specializes in M&A, Infrastructure and Finance, Corporate and Commercial Law. With more than 21 years of experience, providing legal advice, she has acquired an ample knowledge and cultural understanding of the regional climate and how business is done within the Central American region; with emphasis in multi-national investments and infrastructure projects.
She was a co-founder of Bufete Centro Americano Aczalaw, a firm that arises in the year 2000, being a firm that was made up of 55% of Equity Partners Women. After this, on 2012 she became the first equity partner of Pacheco Coto an International Leading Firm within the Central American Region.
She has been Chair of the NYSBA Guatemala Chapter for more than 8 years and founding Chair for the Leading Committee of NYSBA Latin American Council. Latin Lawyer and the Vance Centre recognized her as Leading Light on 2012, and Chambers & Partners Global and Latin America have elected her as Leading Lawyer for 5 consecutive years.(2010-2015). In 2013, Legal Media Group, IFLR1000, awarded her the "Americas Women in Business Law".
She is an Attorney and Notary, Cum Laude from Universidad Francisco Marroquín. (1999)
She holds a master’s degrees in Business Law, (2003), Corporate Law, Finance and Taxation from Universidad Francisco Marroquín (2006). Ruby also has a Master's in Law from Universidad Católica de Chile (2012). An Executive Master´s in Georgetown and INCAE University (1999).
Her background includes several courses as Financial Entrepreneurship from Tulane University and a Management Program at Yale School of Management (2008), among others.
