Santiago is a Senior Manager and leader of the EY Law practice in Nicaragua. His areas of expertise include Corporate Law, Negotiations and Dispute Resolution, and legal advisory in multi-jurisdictional matters. He has a robust track record advising national and international clients on corporate matters, intellectual property, management of labor relations and regulatory compliance.
Santiago has almost 19 years of experience in the legal field, advising clients in the public and private sectors and international organizations in terms of the analysis, design and adoption of complex regulatory frameworks related to free trade, foreign investment, energy and security.
Prior to joining EY, Santiago was the Legal Director of the International Renewable Energy Agency of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Previously, he also led the Office of Legal Affairs of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization in Vienna, Austria. He has also worked as corporate attorney in Bogota, Colombia, as consultant for various international bodies in the Americas, Europe and Asia, and has been a guest speaker at events on legal or regulatory matters in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
Santiago holds an MBA from INCAE Business School, as Master's in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. He participated in Harvard Law School’s negotiations program, and holds a degree in Law from Sergio Arboleda University.
