Biography

Karina has experience in the areas of Corporate Law, Notary and Registry Law, Labor Law and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).

 

In the last four years she has developed her expertise in employment law, both at private and public level. Within her knowledge, she has worked in the set-up of the operations of transnational companies in the Costa Rica, from their employer registration, subscription of occupational hazard policies, drafting of employment contracts, internal work policies, application of disciplinary regime, attention and prevention of discriminatory claims, terminations, hearings before the Ministry of Labor and before private Alternative Dispute Resolution Centers, contracting for professional services, outsourcing, among others. Additionally, she has worked in due diligence in labor matters and has provided consulting derived from the daily labor environment.

 

Karina is currently part of the Women in the Profession (WIP) Association in Costa Rica, which promotes the advancement of women in the legal profession with emphasis on individual leadership and within the profession.

Karina has a Law degree from the Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho. Also, she is about to conclude her specialization studies in Notary and Registry Law at the Universidad Escuela Libre de Derecho and has been a member of the Costa Rican Bar Association since 2022.
